We know you’ve all been waiting for this moment! Okay, maybe not, but we’re really excited to share some news with you. Were you unsure of which Braintree extension you needed to make your WooCommerce store complete? Problem solved! We’ve merged the Braintree and Braintree Transparent Redirect extensions to support shiny new braintree.js, which means you now get the simplicity of a direct gateway with the reduced PCI compliance of a redirect gateway, giving you the functionality of two great extensions in one fantastic SkyVerge package (yay upgrades!).
What does this mean for your store? We’ve taken the easy PCI compliance from the transparent redirect gateway, so you have fewer regulations to worry about, and blended it with the single-page checkout of the direct gateway, which leads to higher sales conversions and makes more money. Basically, you get the best of both worlds.
Can this get any better? Of course! Now the all-in-one WooCommerce Braintree Payment Gateway supports WooCommerce Subscriptions and WooCommerce Pre-Orders to bring new functionality to your payment gateway.
WooCommerce Subscriptions allows you to set up recurring billing for your customers so you get paid on time, every time, and Pre-Orders lets you take an order and charge the customer when that order ships, converting more sales for you since it reduces the hassle for the customer and encourages them to buy your product, regardless of release date. Welcome to Braintree Utopia.

Hello, I’m wondering if this could be integrating with the marketplace feature of braintree introducing submerchant ?
Regards,
Valérian
At this point there are no plans to integrate the marketplace feature, sorry!
Does this plugin offer the option to specify ‘merchantAccountId’ ?
My Braintree Payments account has a separate, currency specific, Merchant Account ID and I dont see an option to add or specify the id when requesting the transaction.
Hi, are you using the latest version of the plugin (Version 2.1)? The Merchant Account ID can be set, and the field is under the Braintree settings.
I have not purchased this plugin yet because I had a question.
Does the Braintree Payment Gateway support the feature of collecting the credit card information at checkout, and not charging the customer’s credit card until I have shipped the product?
Although it sounds similar to the Pre-Order plugin, it’s not because the products are available for immediate purchase.
Let me know if my question makes sense.
Thanks!
Hi James! This extensions supports an “Authorize only” mode which will not charge the customer immediately, but you’ll have to log into your Braintree control panel to manually capture charges yourself when orders are shipped. Does that answer your question?
Beka,
That does answer my question, thank you! Since my products are made-to-order, this will reduce my risk for charge-backs.
If Braintree grants developers the ability, does Skyverge have any plans to integrate the capture feature within Woocommerce?
Example – My employee gets ready to make a product for the customer and clicks a button to capture the funds. If the funds are successfully captured, the order status is updated. You could then have an email sent to the customer if funds could not be withdrawn.
Hi James, that’s on the roadmap, but unfortunately I don’t have an ETA at the moment. Some of our newer gateways do this already – have a look at Intuit QBMS for an idea of how it will work once it’s been implemented: http://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-intuit-qbms/#section-4
Beka,
That’s exactly how I imagined the feature, and it would be very helpful if it was implemented.
I’ll make sure to keep an eye out for the feature!
Hi! I have purchased the braintree plugin before a year ago and everything worked great.
But last week there is something wrong with the plugin and when order details gets refreshed in checkout page, braintree options dissapear.
Hey there, have you submitted a support ticket for this yet at support.woocommerce.com? If so, can you give me the ticket number so we can pull this up and take a look? Thanks!
I was hoping to find a Braintree plugin that handles paypal payments along with credit cards. Does your plugin do that?
Hey Greg, not yet but we’re in progress with a rewrite already that adds this. It’s over half-done and should be out in a few weeks.
Hello,
as per you we can take the paypal payments through Braintree very soon, your message was posted 2 months ago…
Any news when can we do that
I am also interesting in getting an update on the plugin to accept PayPal as a payment option through Braintree.. you mentioned 2 weeks but I don’t see any update in the woocommerce plugin changelog
I am also in need of Paypal via Braintree, any update on when this feature will be released? Thanks!
Hi Beka, I’m in need of the ability to accept PayPal via Braintree too. Is there any word on when this functionality will be released? Thank you!
Hey Phoebe, we’re working through some issues with the Braintree / PayPal team that’s holding this up, so I’m afraid I don’t have a concrete answer until this is resolved.
Hello,
should I have SSL certificate to accept Braintree payments?
Thank you in advance for your answer.
Is there any update on the paypal integration?
This is super important to me and my site.
